Long awaited new arrival of Mazaki San's Hon Sanmai Blue2 Damascus Santoku 180mm with Kiri Box.
From Sanjo City in Niigata, Mazaki San has been in the knives making for a while now but is relatively new. He was trained under very famous sword Master Kiyoshi Kato San. This three layers (Hon Sanmai) was forge weld by himself instead of using pre-cladded steel. This knife's spine is thick and gradually thinning towards the tip very similar to Kato San's knives with beautiful Damascus pattern. Excellent fit and finish, rounded choil and very sharp out of the box. Mazaki San's knives has improved over his previous products.
This series of Hon Sanmai Blue2 Damascus has excellent presentation of Naoki Mazaki's San signature and stamped Kiri Box pair perfectly with the Octagonal Magnolia handle and walnut ferrule.
